Ireland joins EU fibre broadband league table
Around This is according to the latest ComReg quarterly report , which also revealed that overall, 80pc of all fixed broadband subscriptions in Ireland are greater than 10Mbps. This should give infrastructure planners and politicians a nice fuzzy feeling, but just for a while. Around the corner, the accepted international definition of broadband of 25Mbps as set out in by the FCC might be soon given an upgrade to Mbps.
Half of all mobile users now on 4G as fixed broadband subscriptions rise
Registered in Ireland: The rate of Irish households with broadband is higher than the EU average, the latest figures from the Commission for Communications Regulation ComReg has revealed. Meanwhile, the average mobile phone user is making fewer calls, sending fewer texts, but using much more data.
